Our future does not live in tomorrow. Our future is created today.
Many of you will recall the TV series Star Trek, the Starship Enterprise and the “in the future” functions and equipment featured. Two of those features that stand out in my mind include the Transporter and the Holodeck. I’ll start with the Transporter.
I recall watching crew members gathering in the Transporter, ready to
And in a few blinks of an eye, each crew member would dissolve into sparkling fragments, only to be reassembled in their original form at their desired destination point. Pretty cool stuff!
The Holodeck, on the other hand, was contained right there on the Enterprise. It was a deck or “room” where your wildest fantasies, dreams, adventures, books, plays, anything you could imagine would come into complete fruition, with you as the main character. If you were imagining yourself as a professional athlete, there you were, hard into the game, and likely facing and overcoming some form of enormous challenge. If you had chosen a particular book in which you saw yourself as the main character; bam! You were that character and all the supporting characters and circumstances described in the book would be there, interacting with and influencing you. Amazing!
While this seems incredible and remarkable science fiction, what I’m suggesting is that it is not science fiction at all. Rather, the Transporter and the Holodeck are elements of our lives that are available for us to experience now, today! In fact, I’ll bet all of us have already experienced them without being consciously aware of it.
There were times that the Transporter was used to help crew members escape from dangerous situations while on foreign planets. The captain would hurriedly order in his communicator, “Beam us up, Scotty!” Aye, Aye, Captain!” and in an instant the crew was, once again, safe on the Enterprise.
This reminds me of times myself, others I know of, and likely yourselves, found ourselves in dangerous circumstances and chose to leave. When I say “dangerous” I mean physically, mentally, spiritually, or emotionally hazardous. We realized that what was occurring around us was too risky to endure, and so we exited. We weren’t “beamed up” or “beamed out,” instead, we used our will, our strength, determination and guile to remove ourselves from harms way.
We can use the same principles to examine any areas of our lives today; where are we at some kind of risk? That risk could include loss of self-esteem, loss of confidence, codependency, abuse, anytime and anywhere we feel powerless, or “less than.” Whenever we find ourselves in these circumstances, we
We won’t dissolve into sparkling fragments, as was the case on the Enterprise, but we can bring sparkle back into our lives. We will bring confidence and drive back to where we may been stuck in the deadness of unhealthy habits, jobs or relationships. We have the power to transport ourselves out of limiting, judgmental, harsh conditions into the light of our amazing potential. Beam yourself out right now. Start now, taking the steps necessary and move in a positive direction. Today,
Regarding the Holodeck, haven’t we’ve all imagined ourselves to be someone, something, or somewhere we are not? And, haven’t we, at sometime, created a fantasy and imagined ourselves to be the hero or heroine? The Holodeck was the perfect material demonstration of our imagination at work.
Our future does not live in tomorrow. Our future is created today. We create it by examining the present and deciding where we want to go from here, wherever “here” is. Then we beam our selves out of negative circumstances and imagine ourselves where we want to be. Next, we take steps in the direction of our target destinations, inciting the Law of Attraction to work in our favor. Doing so, we’ll find ourselves in the upward spiral of life we are meant to experience!
